Schwarzbuebe-Apotheke (Breitenbach)

Anyone who wants to be vaccinated against influenza (also measles, mumps, rubella, ticks, hepatitis A+B, tetanus, cervical cancer) can do so without a prescription at the Schwarzbuebe pharmacy since October 2015. This is thanks to a new regulation in the canton of Solothurn, which allows specially trained pharmacists with a license to vaccinate without a prescription. Regula Studer, as manager, and her deputies Monia Schmutz and Gülistan Karatas successfully completed this five-day training and are now pleased to be able to offer their customers this service without prior appointment and without a prescription. A flu vaccination - effective for about six months - costs about 30 francs, as Regula Studer informs.

There's no such thing!

Regula Studer's team tries to fulfill all customer wishes. "Making the impossible possible is our credo!" Whether it's Bach flowers, tea blends, blood pressure measurements, methadone administration, earring piercing, support stockings fitting, nutritional counseling, dementia or smoking cessation. Renting a shampooing machine, baby scales or crutches, even taking photos for the new ID card - all no problem at the Schwarzbuebe pharmacy. For homes, sachets of medically prescribed medicines are packed, meticulously labeled by home resident. And for tradesmen's supplies, chemicals are stored safely locked away in the fire cellar. "It's a very wonderful and versatile job," Regula Studer enthuses, "here in the country, people are very nice and grateful.

To date, only a few pharmacies in the canton of Solothurn have such a license for over-the-counter vaccinations.
